One the weirdest and most fascinating places on Earth isn’t even on the surface. The Naica Mine Giant Crystal Cave in Chihuahua, Mexico is almost 1,000 feet (300 meters) underground…and it’s pretty incredible:

The main cave area is comprised of these massive selenite crystal structures, that developed over hundreds of thousands of years. An awe-inspiring place to visit, but a dangerous one too: the temperature and humidity inside the cave are so high that it’s dangerous to be in there without proper atmospheric/breathing equipment.
